December 2016 Smalls challenge

Phew, have managed to last the distance and can now post my last finish for the year!!

How cute is this little guy, reminds me of my time in America where the squirrels were running around everywhere!!

Christmas ornament and November smalls challenge

Here are two things I have recently finished.

The first is a Christmas ornament I made for an exchange with my Australian lace group (the Gumnuts!!), and the second is another item for the Smalls challenge

I know they are only small, but its great to have some finishes.

Mounted lace

As you can see from previous photos, I am not very keen on mounting lace onto fabric. I recently bit the bullet and found this very old, yellowing piece of Bucks lace and attempted the mounting.

Now to get going on some more pieces!!!

October Smalls and My Milanese lace piece

Well, here he is my cute little sheep, there was an interesting stitch under the white beads on his body, bit hard to see here.

And here is my entry for the Royal Geelong show, this was my third Milanese piece and I quite enjoyed making it. I was lucky to get First Prize in this section of the show.

Now what will I stitch for November?!!

September Smalls challenge

Here at last is my cross stitched ornament using some nice variegated DMC threads, and bobbin lace I made to decorate the edge. This was a simple pattern by a lovely woman called Christine Springett from the UK.
Not the best finishing, but at least it can go on the tree!!

August Small's Challenge

Here is my contribution for the Smalls August challenge. Just made it in time!!

Meanwhile I am trying to finish a lace piece for country show, I have a few weeks left to finish this!

July 2016 Small competition

At last, here's my contribution for the July Smalls. Another quick stitch, while I start larger projects in my bobbin lace!!! These are great to stitch when you have a few moments
